I’m Kyla, and I lived in the vibrant city of Tokyo for 5 years. My journey into the world of jewelry-making began with an unexpected turn in my career. As a qualified chartered accountant, I found myself navigating the challenging 7-hour time difference between Japan and my home country, South Africa. This time zone struggle made it difficult to wind down and find a balance in my life.
However, fate had other plans for me. It was through my Japanese teacher that I stumbled upon a unique coffee shop experience in Japan. Here, you could enjoy a cup of coffee while crafting your own accessory. The moment I stepped into that bead-filled haven, something inside me ignited. The artistry and craftsmanship of the bead shop were next level, and I was captivated.
Intrigued by this newfound passion, I delved into researching the world of bead shops in Japan. To my amazement, I discovered that Toho glass beads and Miyuki glass bead factory shops were right on my doorstep. This proximity to such high-quality materials ignited a spark within me, and my interest in jewelry-making began to grow and blossom.
